A card reader or keypad on the door lets you add a person or take one away without changing a single lock.
Who is this for?
- Buildings tired of replacing street door keys each time a tenant moves.
- Offices and shops with staff who come and go.
- Storerooms and basements that only a few people should enter.
What goes on the door?
A small reader or keypad beside the door, an electric strike or magnetic lock that fits the door you have, and a controller out of sight. If the door does not close on its own, we fix the closer too, because the system needs a door that shuts.
Can it go on an old building?
Yes. We work on old frames and old brick all the time. We run the wire inside the wall or in a straight metal pipe, depending on what the building allows.
How does the job go?
Tell us about the door on the phone, or text us a picture of it, and we give you a written quote before any work starts. We do the work, then you try the lock and the keys yourself before we leave.
Common questions
What happens when the power goes out?
Different hardware acts differently. Before you choose, we explain what your door will do and how people get out.
Can I start with just one door?
Yes. One reader on one door is a normal job, and you can add more doors later.
Do people still need keys?
Many buildings keep a key cylinder on the door as a backup. We can set it up either way.
