When the buzzer goes silent upstairs or the door will not release, we track down the fault and repair it, or replace the system with a new panel.
What usually breaks?
- One apartment hears nothing when a guest presses the button.
- A whole line of apartments goes quiet.
- People upstairs press the button and the street door stays shut.
- The voice comes through as static.
- Buttons on the front panel are worn out or missing.
Fix the old system or start over?
A single dead line or a bad door release is a repair. If the panel and the old wire are failing all over the building, money spent on repairs does not go far, and we quote a new system in writing.
What do you put in on new jobs?
A modern entrance panel with a touch screen and a camera, set neatly into the wall at the door. Tenants answer on a unit in the apartment, and some systems can ring a phone as well.
How does the job go?
Tell us about the door on the phone, or text us a picture of it, and we give you a written quote before any work starts. We do the work, then you try the lock and the keys yourself before we leave.
Common questions
Do you work on small buildings?
Yes. A six apartment walk-up gets the same care as a bigger building.
Is the door release a separate job?
It can be. Often the release has failed and the rest of the system is fine.
What should I send you first?
A picture of the front panel, and how many apartments the building has.
